Hi Kika,
I think it's a West Asian Islamic period bead - which fits with it having been excavated in Djenne. The pendant structure is slightly unusual, the trailed decoration is not. It's definitely not a core-formed Phoenician head pendant. I'll attach another from the same time period with a similar resemblance to a face - which quite a lot of eye beads show. Perhaps the resemblance was intentional, but I rather doubt it.
All the best,
Will
Thanks Will: your bead is really beautiful. The mine is very worn. But I agree with you, I think it's comes from Middle West like the other beads of Djenne. However, during the islamic period, the design are geometric and no figurative. Perhaps is this bead pre-islamic because it's clearly a face. what do you think?
