Hi Kika, I think it's a West Asian Islamic period bead - which fits with it having been excavated in Djenne. The pendant structure is slightly unusual, the trailed decoration is not. It's definitely not a core-formed Phoenician head pendant. I'll attach another from the same time period with a similar resemblance to a face - which quite a lot of eye beads show.
