I have lots of pix and info of my own bead collection...plus reference photos and data of cool beads from other websites.

Can anyone suggest, easy to use software to help organize these things? I'd like a database of both photos and info that lets me search using a variety of criteria.

I'd appreciate ideas about both what to look for...and what to avoid. bad) software?
Thanks very much

this just might be useful for you:
over 10 yrs ago, some seasoned collectors who participated in an online bead discussion forum that i co-moderate called Beads/L (see B/L listed in Links) created an interactive online bead database with the aim of recording items in our collections, and it was accessible by all members, whether specialists, researchers or relative beginners.
After some years it stopped being accessible because there were problems with hosting the site.
However -recently we have been able to retrieve most of the entries and it could be available to download as a PDF for personal use.
i have to say that the accuracy of the details entered about the beads is often limited because we accepted what information people contributed and it wasnt possible at the time to check the entries, but it remains a record of a number of bead collections, and you can see the cataloguing categories that we considered essential about each bead.
We are not going to publish it as such because there may be copyright issues.
i will follow this message with another carrying the link and instructions if you want to download it.
What it does not give is prices or values, which in my opinion entirely depend on the current market anyway.

For anyone who wants a copy of the B/L database pages we were able to recover, whether you are a B/L member or not, you can download it here for a limited period, from:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/1c2y77k09cb4cv3/BeadDatabaseBEST.pdf?dl=0

It will continue to be available for another few weeks, up to April 1st.

At the time it was active, any members were able to add images and details about their beads, though some of the information may have been incomplete.
So its not for general publication as a resource, there might be copyright issues, etc.

for about 15 years now I use FilemakerPro for creating my database of beads.
And now there is FilemakerGo for the iPad. I had to upgrade to Filemaker 12 to use Filemaker Go and lost some handy possibilities but I can still use my database on my desktop and on the iPad.

I use filemaker for my database of sample cards. Can add pictures, and searches easily. I use it on a Mac, and it exports easily to PDF and excel. There is a Windows version too. I expected I will add a second database for my beads. I will look at the categories from the Beads-L database to see if it works for me.
