Both auctions you pointed out are indeed made up of newly made Chinese, Indian and Indonesian beads. Mostly cheap Indian beads, though. What a shame that people got fooled and paid so much money for them.
His other bead auctions are 90% bogus too.
Too bad you are going yhrough tough times. A little bead disctraction may be just what you needed. Hang in there.
I thought they were pretty horrible, my sense of justice makes me want to try to stop people from cheating others like this, but what can be done? Maybe nothing....I have tried complaining to the auction site but it gets nowhere, so I guess there's nothing....
Thanks for your kind sympathy, you are so right, it is good therapy to look through all the interesting posts here. I have spent a lot of time sitting with my laptop in the dark with bead images flickering across my screen. :)
some strands have a higher fake/genuine ratio than others...

Well, at least most of the beads on this strand are older than 10 years.....
Do you use pinterest? It is a great source for bead pictures. You do not need to join to go and search for images.
I'm following you now. Very thoughtful of you, thank you!
Please send me a private email, just trying to reach you. Thanks!

Hi Mel,
I noticed these bogus auctions a few days ago. I sent a message about one of them, politely pointing out that the chevrons were recent from India and the tic-tac-toe beads may be reproductions. All mixed in with authentic-looking padre beads. I asked if he was aware of this, and asked where he obtained the strand.
No response yet, and I doubt I'll get one.
Yes, the combination of new beads from India, new beads from Africa, repros - likely from TT Trading, and some old Venetians, is troubling in that the unaware buyer may think they are getting all antique beads.
Both auctions you listed are now marked as "sold".
And the seller has "guaranteed authentic" in his listing. I hope he gets shut down somehow.
