They are crumb beads, tabular and small 8mm x 12mm. I've not seen them before. Any help would be appreciated, thanks Judy

but the 'crumbs' are no neatly and uniformly applied. There are so many culturally integrated types of beads around it can get really confusing!

indian ones would be smoother.
Venetian crumb-decorated beads would likely be lampworked and have smaller holes.
does any of this sound feasible?

it does make sense. What confused me is that the colors of the 'crumbs' look the same as the colors on the Venetian beads. I agree, the holes do not look Venetian at all. You opinion is much appreciated, Judy
