Egyptian beads?

I found this string of "Egyptian" beads on Pinterest and followed them back to the collection at the Yale museum. They are not on display and Yale does give a disclaimer as to authenticity. I can't imagine these are Egyptian or Roman, except for a few at the top of the strand. The colors and surfaces just don't look right to me. Later Venetian beads made with frit, perhaps?

Hi there, KFM,
I'll consult our friend Bassem, but I believe that besides the top 5, many of the "splotch" beads are actually ancient beads. There may be some Venetians thrown into the mix of splotches.

Thanks, Joyce - very curious to see what Bassem says. I don't ever remember seeing those colors in that particular type of bead. And notice the one near the bottom that looks like the splotches are done over gold leaf.
