I'm in the process of discovering things that i forgot i had. I uncovered this Japanses carving today. I'm sure it Netsuke but, i know very little ablut Netsuke Ojime. This is a figurine of a man sitting with a knife in his hand cutting open what appears to be a clam.(not sure) It is finely carved and very detailed. Judging by the bottom of it, it could be wood. I don't know if, it is contmporary or old. it weighs over 40 grams. It is two inches tall (37 mm) and almost two and a half inches long (45mm). I would welcome your input/opinions. Please forgive me for posting a non-bead item. I thought perhaps a few of you would find this item interesting! Thank you in advance1

He does have a clam in his hand because half of the shell is on the ground beside him! Amazing!
