I found these beads in a HUGE lot I recently purchased from an Estate sale. They almost seem like wood to me, but there are lighter areas within the wood that is translucent when a light is applied behind them. Petrified wood, maybe?

Petrified wood would be heavy like stone. If is light weight and dense with no continuous grain. I'd go with buffalo horn as well.
