Trail decoration simulates a chevron bead. This bead is often referred to as a "tire bead". It is pictured in Picard's chevron book on page 55. Nice photos!
I almost called it chevron indeed. But actually I now remember finding it with a lot of smaller beads in a Dayak village of West Borneo. Could it have been traded all the way from Venice?!
Sawasdee Khap Francois,
Nice to see your beautiful photography on BCN. You may not remember me by name, but I have been in your home once -with a friend who deals in furniture- and your Chiang Mai shops many times over the years. I bought a few special gold beads directly from you and your lovely wife.
I would not be surprised to learn that you have a wealth of beautiful images to share. Certainly, we would all enjoy seeing images of your collections and elegant stores.
If you feel like it -and not too much trouble- it would also be nice to see photos of the Chiang Mai Night Market and other destinations in SE Asia from the perspective of an advanced shopper, collector and photographer.
Khap Kun Khap,
Fred
Thank you for your kind words. As per the first answer, for pictures of the gallery and the warehouse, please check the website (click on any collection page, and scroll down to "Visit our showrooms", then click on pics)
And, sorry Fred but I have met many Freds over the years, if perhaps I only knew the name of your friend who bought furniture...
Kind regards
