Anybody has an idea about the origin of this lot? If I remember correctly, I purchased them in Borneo or perhaos Java in the 80s. I assume they might be Chinese trade beads for the southern lands.
Diameter of the biggest is 16 mm x 12.5 mm long.

to me, now i understand their sizes i suggest "hebron beads" -vintage rather than very recent.
certainly furnace-wound, with the black residue inside the holes.
years ago when i started collecting i saw very similar ones referred to as "Donkey beads"

Thanks Stefany for your imput.
I think I have a better idea, now that you refer to them as "Donkey": they were possibly used as decoration for a donkey bag, perhaps Baluch. See one of my item here: it's a Baluch salt bag, it's also used this way to decorate a donkey bag.
The origin could be anywhere between Iran to the Middle-East, from Hebron to Istanbul to Quetta...

They look like modern turkish beads to me, direct wound from the furnace.
These beads have an amuletic value against the evil eye.
The color blue is made with copper scrap.

Agree with Hans that they look like furnace wound glass beads, not too old.

The one on the top left hand corner seems like the odd one out. Different color, different surface, different shape. Could it be that this is a stone bead?
