Millefiori from Moretti?

Some weeks ago (2014-11-02) there was an item from Franck about disc millefiori's. This time I have a question about a necklace, unfortunately bought at the same time on internet. I think is from the Moretti's but I'm not sure. These beads were sold as from the twenties last century but maybe they are a little bit younger (fifties?). Maybe Giorgio Napoleone can give more details? And I do like the millefiori beads but I think I have to restring them (ugly chain).

Thanks,
Nel

Hi Nel,
to me,the millefiori beads of your necklace don't seem Moretti. But I can be wrong, as of course I don't know the whole Moretti production. I sent your picture to Gianni Moretti and I'm waiting for an answer.

Gianni Moretti confirmed my doubts: those millefiori are not by Ercole Moretti. He told me they are possibly not so recent, as some of the murrine seen in the beads are not made by some decades: maybe '50s or before. What made me doubt about the Moretti's origin of your millefiori is that the murrine are not perfectly arranged side by side showing mostly their transversal section, and not the longitudinal side if not for a minumal part. This effect in Moretti's production is enhanced by a still secret process of tumbling the beads, which "opens" the murrine, as they say.
