One of my favorite necklaces - Alas!, sold today -- made of antique Mediterranean coral beads, with a coral manu fica pendant amulet, the rings adorned with one pearl and one diamond.

Did you have the rings added to the figa?

The diamond ring was originally there. The pearl ring was missing, but on the index finger you could see that a ring had been there previously. So I had it partly made by a goldsmith, partly I made it myself.
The amulet is stylistically linked to one in the British Museum made of ivory(pic attached), expertized as XVI century, Spanish -- although in my opinion the coral manufica is Italian.

Meaning of "Mano Fica:"

At Costume Society of America Conventions, it quickly becomes clear that clothing and accessories enable the wearer to show off his or her good taste and status -it is the amor we wear to protect ourselves during the battle of daily life. And there is the additional meaning we derive from the symbolism and history in the bits and pieces which hopefully turn a necklace into a complete artistic expression.
