I'm a collector of Venetian Trade beads but were given these beads by a friend who had been a long time collector of Trade beads and Ancient Beads who traveled all over the world. I was wondering if someone can shed some light on these beads. I was wondering if these were tho old Roman beads Used on the Silk roads or if there old Islamic Beads? Any Help would be appreciated.

In my humble opinion: Neither Roman nor Islamic Era. Probably well worn Venetian.

But I have a couple of questions -
WHat is the diameter of the beads?
WHat size is the hole?
Is the base color of the beads slightly blue or is the color an artifact of your photo?
WHat color is the base of each bead in natural light?
Can you please photograph the two beads together, at lower magnification and such that they are in better focus?

The smaller bead is 15mm in diameter and the larger bead is 18mm in diameter.I took the picture of the beads in better lighting side by side , the base color is a light blue. hole on the eye bead is 4.3 mm and the other bead the hole i 2.5 mm. Thanks

The size and color of both beads do not seem consistent with Venetian beads - so I'm puzzled now.
On the one with white cross hatching -I would expect on an antique bead that the white glass would degrade differently than the blue glass, but these white lines look similar to the background color in wear. The surface texture looks similar to that of beads etched to remove surface gloss.
Would really be interesting to handle these beads.

No other info as to where and when they were collected?

Please be aware that it's impossible to be absolutely sure about beads from images alone.

The surface pitting on the fancy on the left is suspicious for me, as is the slightly "squarish" shape. The texture and pattern as well as the poorly defined trailing is weird for the one on the right. From the photos alone, and not being able to handle the beads or view through a loupe in person,
my guess is recent Indonesian, dirtied up intentionally. Can you do an image of the perforations?

I think you might be right, probably made in Indonesia. I have seen many recent reproductions but these ones i wasn't sure about.

Did you Did you wash them & make fresh images? The bead in the first image seems greasy to me.
