A close-up of one bead should be helpful.
If it would be ivory you should be able to detect ivory striations, which looks like snake skin.
If not, it could be bone or Tagua nut, known as vegetable Ivory.
I believe I can see the characteristic cross-hatch pattern in this particular bead.
