Ancient quartz and highly corroded excavated bronze beads from W.Africa,
strung on 1 mm thick steel wire (of the kind used for pianos, sorry I do not know which note).

Couldn't resist.
I love the patina on the bronze beads, and the hammered quartz. I've never seen antique quartz, is it hard to find?

It is easy (eBay>Collectibles>Beads>Pre-1400>Quartz). What is more difficult is to find matching sets, you have to buy many beads to be able to put together a set, sellers prefer to sell mixed strands or very small groups.

I'm in the middle of packing up my studio (and my home, but the studio is harder!) and have to sit on my hands to keep from searching for these beads NOW. :^D

I�m not sure, if I would cherish it well, when I would find a single one of these bronze or quartz beads, but all together this necklace is just awesome...!!
