This time glass or coral. I thought glass, a man I deal with for amber says its South Sea coral. This time I'm 99% sure I'm correct. These came to me in a bunch with the other trade beads I put up on this site. I have never seen anything like them. Are they African powder-glass, or do they come from elsewhere....?

They look like wound glass to me. If I am correct, you can see the marks of winding at the smaller ends. Also, the stripes in different shades of colour are consistent with wound glass beads. To get more of an idea of where they were made, you would need to get a closer look at the holes.

i have a number of red cone-shaped beads like these seem to be.
Mine are Czech moulded beads.
