You know, they continue on. The Chinese chapter (emulating chevrons made for the African trade) beginning in 2006 changed things a bit, though. Some of the new trade bead style Chinese ones are still being misrepresented, still being dirtied up and sold with the required stories to deceive. I think this period surely had some influence on the prices of the standard 6-layer red-white-and-blue, as well as the older 7-layer Venetians of the same basic color scheme. I think these beads may be harder to sell now due to the proliferation of the Chinese production. As expected when they first appeared.

But, I have heard that the prices for the ever-elusive Venetian GREEN 7-layers have spiked noticeably in recent years.

This one, in my pile, from Thomas 2 years ago, may look familiar to you.
I cherish it, and it's symbolic in my bead-life, the point at which I felt...this is the last Venetian bead I really NEED in my stash.
