Yesterday we picked up 400 antique (or nearly so) Chinese glass bangles in original packaging. It's the most I've ever seen at one time. These are a lovely translucent berry color.

These, along with the beads that used to adorn the Chinese sewing baskets that were imported to the U.S. in the early 20th century, have long been referred to as "Peking Glass". It's been discussed here before in great detail that this is not an accurate name....

The manufacturer of these particular rings was Kwong Yick in Canton. In 1918 Canton was renamed Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. Rings a bell, doesn't it?! TONS of new material comes from this location today.
