If you haven't already done so buy a copy of Chinese Jade: From the Neolithic to the Qing by Jessica Rawson. She focuses mainly on the early stuff and catalogues the subject as much by function as dynastically i.e. congs, bis, funereal, belt hooks, sword fittings etc. Not expensive and lots of excellent photos and drawings.
