This could be a decorative pin, but I think it may have functioned primarily as an awl - to pierce leather for instance. Really, decorative and practical functions coincided in these nomadic cultures - everything was decorated. Their portrayal of animals is usually very precise, but I'm not sure what this one is. It's very like the wolves on other Ordos bronzes that I have but this one seems to have horns!
