I believe the seller is charging $5 for the beads and $135 for her design. I think this is typical for people selling necklaces that they have designed - namely that they need to make a good profit based on both their time and the materials. However in this case the quality of the beads and the design are not worth it! But as you also know, there is no accounting for taste...so maybe the necklace will find an admirer.

And I agree that this is typical of the misrepresentation that goes on in the bead and jewelry world, and is very, very annoying. Perhaps she means that her design is rare - which may be a charitable way of describing it!
