I have been in touch with the Tropenmuseum and the author of the book, Koos van Brakel. He is also the head of collections at the museum. He informed me that the book only had 500 copies printed, and it was sold out within days. The good news is that the sample cards are all on their website and they can be easily found by filling in the code 3407-* in the search box. All 197 sample cards are shown. The bad news is that for most research purposes, the resolution on these images is too low. The resolution on the DVD images is much higher, and allows you to zoom into individual beads. I have asked mister van Brakel if he sees any possibilities for making the pictures available in higher resolution. The museum also has a professional site for researchers. I'll keep you posted.
