Lots of great info and pics - thanks for all the thoughtful ideas on melons and the related look-alike flora. I will cherish my melon beads even more now. Here are some of my latest "finds". Very mini-melons from garnet and carnelian (note the one cute cross-drilled bead on the strand) of pretty nice workmanship. Also moonstone melons with beautiful color variation.
