I think it is a Venetian cane cut in India. As far as I know in the 90's chevron canes from the old stock of the Società Veneziana per l'Industria delle Conterie (the biggest bead producer of Venetian beads in XX century, which just ended up in those years) was sent to India to be cut; these Indovenetian chevrons haven't rounded extremities but piramidal as those of XVI century, probably because are more easily done. About 20 years ago I found one similar to that in the picture in a stock of new Indian beads in Milan: it was a classic 6 layers in blue, red and white colours. If I'm able to find it I'll post a picture (I'm preparing a small exhibit and my collection room is not exactly in order).
