Original Message:   Botroidal "jade " pendant
This botroidal ( grape cluster or intestinal ) jade is from a western Washington beach near my home. It is a very fine example of a type of rough found regularly in the mountains here. This piece was tested with x-ray diffraction apparatus and is composed of white diopside , green nephrite and green chlorites. It is typical of the tested examples of this variety of " jade "from the Washington jade fields. The most exciting new jade field in the world which is in Borneo has visually identical material which has been tested by the same scientist and it surprisingly is pure nephrite . The social jade always seem to be a muddle in relation to id but not beauty.
