After someone privately questioned whether these were actually phenolic resin beads, I removed one from the necklace and did the hot water test, and got the telltale odor of phenol. Also, the holes are drilled, not molded in. I'm not very familiar with the timeline of phenolic beads after the inter-war period, so I don't know how to date these.
