Original Message:   Kintsugi-type bead repair
Past discussions of broken beads, plus examining some of the dinkage to my kiffas, plus the re-discovery of kintsugi in the cinnabar thread made me wonder -

Has anyone tried a kintsugi-style repair using the epoxy putties now available at any hardware or auto parts store? Guessing one could apply gold leaf (or some cheaper substitute from the art supply store) over the putty before it dries? Or lacquer and paint after drying?

I kind of like the idea of gilding breakages in nice old beads, and if my kiffas don't go on to another owner, might try the experiment on a couple of them.
