Your comment about holding/touching reminds me of something I learned during my years as a student at California College of the Arts. One classroom assignment was: "Create a sculpture for a blind person." -Because there is a relationship between visual and tactile beauty... While holding and touching two thousand grams of antique Tibetan turquoise, I have been trying to teach myself how to grade them. Thomas Stricker has also provided valuable guidance. The necklace/display pictured in this thread is almost exactly one thousand grams. It will soon be taken apart so that each buyer may select one bead at a time.
