Chinese Friendship stores have been around since the 1950s and actually the quality of merchandise was quite good until the economy started to pick up in the early 90s and it became difficult to find people who wanted to do this kind of craftsmanship for little money. The Yue Hwa Stores (a proxy outlet for them) in Hong Kong for many years were considered synonymous with quality. The cloisonné is quite good but the carved agate pendant seems average.
