There are factors of comparison accessible only when the bead is in hand. The Java beads are (generally) noticeably lighter in weight than Venetian beads of same dimensions, due to different glass formulas. Venetians would have higher lead content. I agree, though, that mixed in and roughed up a bit, it will be hard to discern good Indo copies from Venetians on a mixed strand.
