Rosanna, Most likely the softer beads are made from either Serpentine or Bowenite. The bead that smashed into small pieces I would say is Serpentine. If you do a scratch test with a steel scribe I would guess it will scratch easily. For some reason the Chinese call all green stone Jade and then have other words for actual Jadeite.
