Original Message:   Venetian beads plus ?
The orange barrels with eye designs are glass Venetian beads, dated late 1800's - early 1900's. The small, almost round creamy white beads are wound, glass beads from the same era, probably Venetian as well, but certainly from Europe. The green, blue and yellow "slices" appear to be recycled glass beads from West Africa - I'm not 100% sure.

The string seems to me to be an ordinary twine (I think made from hemp) that was common in hardware stores here in the US ever since I was a child in the 1950's.

I think your necklace was strung from Venetian and African beads (and some metal spacers) sometime in the 1960-1980 time frame. Possibly even more recently.

Where did you find this necklace?
